Welcome to Glenfarg Folk Club

We meet every Monday Night - Start Time 8.00p.m. Prompt
In 'Backstage At The Green' Hotel, Kinross

For the forseeable future all events will be 'Virtual'

Below is our Virtual Programme for the next few weeks. We have settled into the four weekly pattern of Sing-around, Guest artiste, Sing-around, Gathering. With attendees often around 30 or so they have become very popular. Sing-arounds and Gatherings are on Zoom, but guest artistes prefer Facebook Live.
The Zoom Meeting ID will be e-mailed to Members a few days in advance. Visitors are welcome to take part, either as a singer or viewer. Please e-mail us before 7.00p.m. on the day and we will supply the Zoom details. The e-mail link is: info@glenfargfolkclub.com
Artiste Concerts
This year the club commenced artiste concerts via Facebook Live. Not everyone subscribes to Facebook and some may have missed the concert.
We are now making these available for everyone to view at their leisure.
7th June 7.30pm via Zoom
The theme is songs that relate to June, or anything that rhymes - preferably, but not necessarily, in the title. As a starter - balloon, spoon, cartoon, moon, toon, croon, swoon, broon, noon, soon. The more imaginative the choon the better. Thinking caps at the ready!
14th June 7.30pm via Facebook Live on the club page
Audrey McGregor Williams Singer songwriter Audrey McGregor Williams, whose hometown is Comrie, joins the club to perform for us. Audrey has a wide repertoire of styles ranging from Scottish traditional to contemporary. She was one of the original artists to perform at the very first Comrie Fortnight when the Folk Night was a popular feature.
21st June 7.30pm via Zoom
Gathering Concert
Welcome to another of our popular Gathering Concerts. We are delighted to announce the artistes will be:
  • Cat Scott and family
  • Maggie Dewar
  • John McGhie
  • Bill Wilson
  • 28th June 7.30pm via Zoom
There is no theme for this event so just come along and entertain us, we know you will. Everybody is very welcome, whether to perform or just sitting back to enjoy.
    5th July 7.30pm
    Brooks Williams
July brings a welcome return to the club from Brooks Williams, one of our favourite American acoustic guitarist and singer-songwriter. His style combines roots, jazz, blues, classical, and folk. He has released albums of contemporary folk music, blues music, and of instrumental guitar music. In addition to his solo recordings and tours, he has frequently recorded and toured with many other musicians over the years, including Boo Hewerdine, Jim Henry, Guy Davis, Hans Theessink, Steve Tilston and Sloan Wainwright. A great night to look forward to.
